Baby Diaper CakesDiaper cakes are a creative way to present the parents-to-be with something they'll be needing the most (besides sleep). Babies go through a lot of diapers, but some people feel awkward giving them as baby gifts. Diaper cakes solve that problem by turning diapers into beautiful yet practical baby gifts. Baby diaper cakes also double as table centerpieces. Diaper cakes can be displayed on each table or a larger diaper cake centerpiece can adorn the table with the other gifts. If you're feeling creative, we've provided diaper cake directions at the bottom of this page. You can look at all of our pictures of diaper cakes while you scroll down to get some baby shower diaper cake ideas.

Great things customers are saying about our Baby Diaper Cakes..."We just had the shower today. The baby diaper cake was the HIT!
Everyone wanted to know where I had gotten it!"
Baby Diaper Cake Directions Diaper cake directions vary by designer. If you have no experience making baby diaper cakes, you'll need time and patience. Beyond that, your
baby diaper cakes are only limited to your budget and your own imagination. Experiment with different diaper cake ideas. Here are the supplies you'll need to gather before you start making baby diaper cakes.
- diapers - disposable or cloth
- rubber bands
- wide ribbon
- string
- cardboard cake plate
- 1-4 wooden dowels
- box cutter
- tulle or cellophane
- Roll each diaper and secure with rubber band. What makes baby diaper cakes practical gifts is the ability to actually use the diapers for their original purpose later, so keep disposable diapers folded.
- On top of plate, start with one rolled diaper in the center, then surround with
other rolled diapers to form a ring around the center.
- Secure the ring with string.
- Repeat until you have only one or two rings left to add.
- Center tier on the plate.
- Mark four places
on the plate around the edge of the bottom tier equal distances from each other.
- Move the
tier aside.
- Where the marks are, cut slits the same width as the ribbon.
- Thread ribbon through the slits of plate from bottom.
- Place bottom tier back on the plate and thread ends of ribbon through the rubber bands on the diapers.
- Tie ends of ribbon at top and tuck ends in so next tier can lie flat on top.
- Add the last ring or two of diapers around the bottom tier diaper cake until it's the desired circumference.
- Repeat steps 1-3 for additional layers.
- When all tiers are finished, increase stability by inserting
wooden dowels through top of diaper cake to the very bottom. 1-2 dowels for smaller baby diaper cakes.
Larger baby diaper cakes or baby diaper cakes that will be shipped may need more.
Baby diaper cakes can be "frosted" with ribbons, blankets, burp cloths, etc. Top baby diaper cakes with stuffed animals, baby bottles, booties, etc. When finished, diaper cakes can be wrapped in tulle or cellophane secured at the top with ribbon.
Yes, making baby diaper cakes is time consuming. Between the time you'll spend
shopping for the items you'll need, not to mention the time that goes
into actually building baby diaper cakes, you might decide it's easier to buy baby diaper cakes. It all depends on how talented you are and how much time you have. Some have so much fun making baby diaper cakes, they've turned it into a business!
